Rehabilitation Hospital

One of my room mates once said, “This place is like a zoo.” If you were staying in the
same hospital, you could echo his description of the hospital where screaming, howling,
bizarre voices travel through hallways. Sometimes you could be startled at seeing someone
peeking into your room on all fours in the middle of the night.
With high proportion of patients having dementia, weird behaviors or peculiar voices are
matters of daily practice there.
Friends who visited me would say, “Sleep well, for your quick recovery!” But that was
the most difficult task for patients sharing a room with those who had regressive changes
in their brain. I sometimes wondered whether hospitalization really improves my health or
